		Hey My name is Deena. I am third generation here at Sanibel Beauty Salon. I love following in the footsteps of my Mom, MaryAnne, and my Yiayia (we are of Greek ancestry and Yiayia means Grandmother). I've been in this business since I was born. I love where I work and all the people I work with. I am a fully licensed cosmetologist, and I specialize not only in the arts of hair and nails, but skincare, facials, waxing and makeup. While I was in beauty school I won contests and awards for highlighting competitions and advanced multidimensional color. I am also certified in bridal makeup and have taken a few classes with MAC for more wild,” out on the town”, dramatic looks. Also, as a licensed braider, I specialize in a variety of styles in braiding, cornrows, and hair wraps. One of the newest things we offer are temporary tattoos- they're a lot of fun! As the tattoo artist I really enjoy creating fun colorful designs for people. I also do ear piercing at our Salon. Because my Mom is all about continuing education, she was able to hook me up with Robert Cromeans. (International Hairdresser of the year for 4 years in a row) One of the highlights for me working in this industry was 2004’s Premier Show in Orlando, Florida. I was a demo model for Paul Mitchell at the Premier Show, and Robert Cromeans cut my hair on stage, he took really good care of me. Being on stage as a demo model means that you're at their mercy. He teased the audience and asked me to hold a pair of clippers and pretended that he was going to give me a really short shaved cut, (the audience was going wild for him to do it) but instead he did a really modern razor sculpting to remove bulk and enhance the coloring technique that I already had.
